| The Cape Fur Seal colony at Cape Cross at the southern end of Namibia's Skeleton Coast is home to literally hundreds of thousands of seals. The water is too cold for big sharks and the colony can thrive here unmolested by their natural enemies. The Namibian government, however, allows culling of the colony at certain times during the year, purportedly to control the population and prevent the depletion of game fish in the area. |
